School Safety Procedures

Canby School District has established comprehensive safety protocols and emergency procedures to help keep our students and staff safe in the unlikely event of a disaster. Please review the protocols and procedures.

Prepare Now

In the event of an emergency, the district will communicate directly with parents. Please ensure your contact information is up-to-date by contacting your school office. Communication will come via:

  • Mass notification system - You will receive an email, phone call, and/or text message, based on your communication preferences. This is our PRIMARY communication method.
  • FlashAlert - The district will share emergency information via this free subscription service that sends alerts via email or text message, based on your communication preferences. This system also notifies the media in the event of an emergency.
  • District Website Alerts - Emergency information is shared on the district website.
  • Social Media - Follow Canby School District on Facebook and Twitter. If an emergency requires a parent/guardian/emergency contact to pick up a student, the adult will need to present a PHOTO ID in order for the school to release a student.
District Closures

Any emergency closure information will be communicated directly with families via email/phone call/text message, based on your communication preferences. Emergency closure information will also be shared via the communication channels listed above.
