IN-DISTRICT TRANSFER APPLICATIONS TO ANOTHER SCHOOL IN THE DISTRICT ACCEPTED FOR SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES MARCH 1 - MAY 1

The Canby School District is not a choice district. A student’s legal residence and established boundary area determine school and district assignments. Please see the Clackamas County Boundary Locator for information regarding your resident district and school attendance areas.

The district recognizes a student may benefit from attending another school outside of their resident boundary area if special circumstances exist.

The following circumstances will be considered subject to enrollment capacity:

  • Siblings of students currently enrolled and accepted through in-district transfer

  • An educational, safety, or health condition affecting the student or the student's immediate family that would be improved as a result of the transfer

  • The student is impacted by a parent or guardian’s military deployment

  • The student experiences instability related to homelessness or foster care placement

  • The student is involved in a documented case of severe harassment, intimidation, bullying, or cyberbullying

The district will accept in-district transfer applications from March 1, 2023, through May 1, 2023; if approved, students must register by May 31, 2023. Please complete an In-District Transfer Request Form for consideration.

If a transfer request is approved, timely transportation becomes the sole responsibility of the parent/guardian unless the student receives services under McKinney-Vento. An approved transfer agreement is contingent upon strict adherence to all district and school policies, rules, and regulations regarding attendance (92% or greater) and behavior.
