Migrant Education Program

Migrant education funds support high-quality education programs for migrant children and help ensure that migrants who move between states are not penalized in any way for disparities among states in the curriculum, graduation requirements, or the state academic content and the standards of academic achievement of the students.

The goal of the Migrant Education Program is to ensure that all migrant students reach challenging academic standards and graduate with a high school diploma that prepares students for further learning and productive employment.

Canby School District works to identify families/students who may qualify for the Migrant Education Program. The Federal Programs Coordinator works with our schools and identifies these students in order to provide services and support.

Determining Eligibility Students who have moved within the past 36 months, across district lines with a parent, guardian, spouse, or family member of the child's immediate family in order to obtain temporary or seasonal employment in qualifying agricultural or fishing work as a means of livelihood.
